Economic Advocacy Initiatives
• Training and sponsorship of minority contractors in obtaining the LEED accreditation.
• Training and advocacy for small minority businesses through e-gardening, minority business initiatives, and public forums.
• Community workshops for small black business informing them of business opportunities with government entities.
MDEAT’s business initiatives include assisting small business owners to become acquainted with the government procurement process.
MDEAT also advocates for developing land in the Targeted Urban Areas (TUA’S) in order to create industries that will employ the community.
