The Grants Coordination Division is responsible for the administration and monitoring of Community-Based Organization (CBO) contracts including the Mom and Pop Business Grants Program; provides training and technical assistance to CBOs; and identifies grant funding opportunities to maximize revenue support to County departments and community organizations.
Additionally, the Division manages and administers grants under the federal Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009; administers the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistant Grant (JAG); identifies and promotes grant and revenue generating opportunities for County initiatives; and provides direct support to the CBO Advisory Board.
FY 2016-17 Environmental Education Community-Based Organization Funding Request for Proposals No. 0317
Interested non-profit organizations can obtain the request for proposals for FY 2016-17 Environmental Education Community-Based Organization (CBO) Funding.
A pre-proposal conference will take place at 3 p.m. March 31 on the 18th floor of the Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW 1st St., Miami (Room 18-3). Attendance is strongly recommended.
The deadline for submission of proposals is 4 p.m. April 21.
Meeting held March 21 about RFP No. CBO1516
The agenda item "Recommendations for Grant Awards to Community-Based Organizations (RFP No. CBO1516), Administrative Cost Cap Formula and Reallocating Certain Community-Based Organization Allocations" was discussed at the March 21, 2017, Board of County Commissioners meeting.
The preliminary recommendations for grant awards under RFP No. CBO1516 have been issued, filed Feb. 16, 2017 with the Clerk of the Board.

Project PEACE Task Force
Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez has issued his appointments to the Project PEACE Advisory Task Force. Members include: the Miami-Dade Police Department, Florida International University and 40 other community stakeholders. Project PEACE (People Engaged and Advocating for Community Empowerment) is a 3-year, $1 million grant initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, FY 2014 Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program.
