Grants

The Grants Coordination Division is responsible for the administration and monitoring of Community-Based Organization (CBO) contracts including the Mom and Pop Business Grants Program; provides training and technical assistance to CBOs; and identifies grant funding opportunities to maximize revenue support to County departments and community organizations.

Additionally, the Division manages and administers grants under the federal Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009; administers the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistant Grant (JAG); identifies and promotes grant and revenue generating opportunities for County initiatives; and provides direct support to the CBO Advisory Board.

Monthly food distribution event in Liberty City

Two free food distribution events will take place Wednesday, August 23 and Wednesday, September 19 for Liberty City residents in the vicinity of 1818 NW 63rd Street, in the Northside District of Miami.

This is part of a collaboration between Miami-Dade County and Farm Share, thanks to federal funds awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice through Project P.E.A.C.E.

Food will be distributed for 800 households on a first come, first serve basis.

Project PEACE Task Force

Project PEACE (People Engaged and Advocating for Community Empowerment) is a 3-year, $1 million grant initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, FY 2014 Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program.

Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez has issued his appointments to the Project PEACE Advisory Task Force. Members include: the Miami-Dade Police Department, Florida International University and 40 other community stakeholders.
