Traffic Management

The Public Works and Waste Management Department oversees the operation of integral parts of the Miami-Dade County's transit system.

Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS)

The County's new Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) is a state-of-the-art, distributed traffic signal monitor and control system, which ensures the signals are timed and operating optimally to keep traffic moving safely and efficiently on the arterials of Miami-Dade County. 

People's Transportation Plan

The People’s Transportation Plan (PTP), the half-penny transportation surtax overwhelmingly approved by Miami-Dade County Voters in November 2002, included $476 million in Public Works and Waste Management Department projects.

Traffic Signals and Signs

The Traffic Signals and Signs Division (TS&S) is responsible for operating and maintaining Miami-Dade County's traffic-related infrastructure.
