Electronic Plans Review (E-Plans Review)

Welcome to the Electronic Plans Review (eReview) site in the New Customer Division. eReview is a free service whereby a customer is able to submit plans for review and approval via FTP.

 

Overview & Guidelines

Purpose: The Water and Sewer Department's (WASD) New Customer Division offers an electronic review service (eReview) for development projects. This allows registered customers to submit plans for review and approval in electronic file formats. Reviews, markups and changes can be exchanged electronically, thus improving efficiency.

Registered Customer: Any individual, group, company, municipality or organization who has registered is able to submit electronic plans and asbuilts for review and approval by WASD staff.

A customer is then able to logon to https://sftp.miamidade.gov, enter in his assigned ID and password, and transfer files via FTP. If an account remains inactive for one year, the customer will be contacted and must respond within 30 days to keep the account open.

Cost: The eReview service is free.

How to Register: Submit an Application. After the application is approved, the applicant becomes a customer. By submitting an application, the applicant agrees to the Terms and Conditions of Use for the eReview Service.

Uploading Files:

Downloading Files: WASD staff will email you with notification that your files are in your FTP folder. Delete the file after downloading it.

File Holding Time: Files will be purged after 30 days if the customer has not deleted his own files from his account after downloading. The FTP site is a transfer site, not a holding tank.

Security: The FTP site is a secured server available on the Internet. A customer will only be able to see his files, and no others. The security is based on SSL encryption for transmission of data, and NTFS security for the files. Transactions may be slower on this server.

FTP Interfaces: The following can be used to FTP files:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7.
  • Third-party FTP software is available and can be found by searching "FTP software" on the Internet.

File Formats: Accepted file formats are:

  • AutoCAD: dwf, dxf
  • Adobe Acrobat: pdf
  • Microsoft Office: doc, xls, ppt
  • Raster images: tif, jpg, bmp, gif

Terms & Conditions

Definitions

Customer: Any individual, group, company, municipality or organization utilizing this service.

FTP: File Transfer Protocol. FTP is a communications protocol by which clients can transfer files to a server. It is used to transfer files from computer to computer across the Internet.

Electronic Plans Review Service: Also called eReview. This service allows customers to transfer computer files via FTP with the New Customer Division (NCD) of the Water and Sewer Department (WASD). The files are water and/or sewer plans and asbuilts that need to be reviewed by staff.

General Terms

The Customer agrees to indemnify Miami-Dade County, its Officers, Officials and Employees and hold Miami-Dade County, its Officers, Officials, and Employees harmless from all claims, injuries, losses, damages, costs and expenses (including without limitation, attorney fees) arising out of use of this service.

Acceptance of General Terms

By submitting an application to become a customer utilizing the Electronic Review Service, you accept the above General Terms and Conditions of Use (given below). Do not submit an application if you do not agree with the Terms and Conditions of Use.

Conditions of Use

The website, pages, databases, FTP site and server are solely the property of Miami-Dade County.

All files transferred via FTP shall be restricted to business purposes only. No personal use is allowed. Any inappropriate use will result in termination of the Customer's access to this service.

Miami-Dade County shall not be responsible for loss of data due to any circumstance including technology failure or failure from any other cause. These include, but are not limited to: viruses, server/web failures and connection failures.

Customer Responsibility

  • The Customer is responsible to retain copies of their files for their own records. Files may inadvertently or otherwise, be altered.
  • The Customer is responsible for checking all electronic media for computer viruses when transferring files.
  • The Customer is fully responsible for intercepting and disabling viruses that may be inadvertently transmitted with the files, and hereby agrees to indemnify and hold Miami-Dade County harmless from, and against all claims of any type or nature.
  • Document of Record

    Electronic files are used to expedite the review process and not intended to be "Documents of Record." All "Documents of Record" shall be hard copy and contain a professional's stamp and signature by the Engineer of Record or Professional Land Surveyor. The hard copy shall be referred to and shall govern, in the event of any inconsistency between the hard copy and the electronic file.
