Get Involved

Earn big-time money-saving rebates toward the purchase of efficient showerheads or toilets! These are just a few of the conservation programs provided by the Water and Sewer Department and its partners.

You can also get involved and nominate a Water and Sewer Department employee for a Pebble Award for excellent customer service delivery.

Avoid paying a high water bill

You may be throwing money down the drain and not even know it! Your home probably accounts for the largest portion of yearly expenses, and the last thing you need is a high water bill. However, left unattended, the problem could worsen.

Showerhead Exchange

If your bathroom fixtures have not been upgraded since 1996, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department will exchange your actual showerhead for a more streamlined, cost-effective High-Efficiency showerhead as well as provide you with a conservation kit for your home.

Toilet Replacement Program

Save money toward the purchase of a High-Efficiency Toilet when you swap it with your older model toilet.

The program is available for:

  • Single family homeowners
  • Multi-family property owners and condominium associations
  • Senior citizens' Full Retrofit Project

Landscape Irrigation Evaluations

Single family homeowners, as well as homeowner and condominium associations, can have their landscapes evaluated by Miami-Dade County and its partners in order to improve water efficiency.

Rain Barrel Workshops

´╗┐Rain barrels are clever, practical and environmentally-friendly devices that are great for storing rainwater that can be used to water lawns. Rainwater is richer in nutrients than water from the faucet -- and saves from having to waste that extra water.

The Miami-Dade County Cooperative Extension Service offers a series of Rain Barrel Workshops that allow residents the opportunity to construct and install rain barrels.

Pebble Award Nomination

Nominate a Water and Sewer Department employee who has demonstrated exceptional customer service behavior.
