The Youth Sports Championship Series partnered with the Boys & Girls Club in Miami-Dade to present the 2015 Dade Youth Basketball League Championships, The Northwest Boys and Girls Club has coordinated the basketball league for over 30 years and has grown into a league of 55 teams run by optimist clubs, youth activity associations, and police athletic leagues.
Over 600 children under 15 years old participated after school in practices and games across the county. First and second place teams were awarded the Mayor’s Cup in four age divisions.
Dade Youth Basketball League Championship was held on April 8 & 9, 2015 at Northwest Boys & Girls Club.
The Youth Sports Championship Series presented the 8th Annual Lazaro Lastra Tamiami Park Basketball Tournament July 22-24. This event is open to all campers aged 14 and under in the Miami-Dade County Parks Summer Program.Back to Top
Cheer & Dance
The Youth Sports Championship Series will present the Tamiami Park’s Annual Summer Dance Competition. This event is open to all campers aged 14 and under in the Miami-Dade County Parks Summer Program.
Tamiami Park Annual Dance Competition will be on July 17, 2015 at Tamiami Park.
In October of 2015 the Great Miami Pop Warner (GMSFPW) League will host their annual Cheer and Dance competition. The GMSFPW League currently has 25 member programs run by optimist clubs, youth activity associations, and parks with Miami-Dade County. The competition will consist of all 25 programs and their cheerleader squads’ ages 5-15 performing cheer and dance routines before judges for ranking and awards.
The Annual Cheer and Dance Competition will be on October 2015 – Location TBD.

In November 2015 the GMSFPW League will host their annual Sean Taylor Classic. The GMSFPW League currently has 25 member programs run by optimist clubs, youth activity associations, and parks with Miami-Dade County.
The Sean Taylor Football Classic serves as the “Super Bowl” for the league of football teams ranging in ages of 6-15. Over 4 days the top teams in two divisions and seven weight classes will compete for the 14 championship trophies.Back to Top
The Youth Golf Championship Series for boys and girls ages 6 – 17 will take place during the summer of 2016. Five qualifying golf tournaments, held at each of the five Miami-Dade County golf courses between June 24 - July 24, will lead up to the Mayor’s Cup Youth Golf Championship at Crandon Park on Sunday, August 14, 2015. Top golfers from each of the five qualifying events will be invited to compete at the Mayor’s Cup.

There will also be a golf challenge event for the innovative Starting New At Golf (S.N.A.G.) format for golfers under 12 years old. The SNAG Youth Golf Challenge utilizes the innovative Starting New At Golf (SNAG) format for golfers under 12 years old. The SNAG golf system contains age appropriate equipment and programming to effectively teach golf skills to kids and encourage participation in the lifetime sport.
This event is open to all campers aged 14 and under in the Miami-Dade County Parks Summer Program.
Mayor’s SNAG Youth Golf Challenge will be held in July 2016 at Tropical Park.
During November 2015, the Miami Soccer Festival will play host a soccer tournament for recreational soccer teams ranging from throughout Miami-Dade county optimist clubs, youth activity associations, and local parks.

The 2016 Miami Junior Tennis Cup will be a series of events open to girls and boys in Miami-Dade County. To accommodate all skill levels and ages 7-14yrs old, the competition will be broken into unique events. The Miami Junior Tennis Cup (7-12yrs old) at the Miami Open will showcase youth tennis at one of the world’s highest profile professional tennis tournaments. Junior players, ages 7-12, will compete in a 32-player draw in the Orange and Green Ball divisions (non-sanctioned). The first two rounds will be played offsite at the Tamiami Tennis Center on March 19 & 20 with the Semifinals and Finals being played at the Miami Open on April 1 & 2. Register for this series.
The annual Miami Junior Tennis Cup returns to Crandon Park Tennis Center where kids aged 12-14 will battle it out for the Mayor's Cup. Register for the September 17-19 tournament sanctioned by USTA-Florida.Back to Top
Track & Field
During the spring of 2016 the Youth Sports Championship Series will partner with USATF to host a track and field meet open to girls and boys under 18. The event, sanctioned by US Track and Field, will crown a County Champion in several events and age groups.

In conjunction with the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition, Inc., Miami-Dade Parks will host a cross country meet in 2015 to recognize and crown the best individual players and teams in middle and high school.
