Because there are so many families who need affordable rental housing, the fairest way for housing authorities to select families is through a waiting list. Applicants for Miami-Dade Public Housing and Community Development's subsidized rental housing programs are placed on a ranked waiting list compiled using a lottery-like system.
Currently, registration is closed.
Selections for eligibility interviews are currently in progress. All of the names of applicants who completed the online registration between July 18-29, 2011 have been entered into an electronic lottery in which a computer randomly assigned the applicants a ranking position.

If a household member with a disability needs reasonable accommodation a Reasonable Accommodation Request form can be submitted to PHCD. Additional documentation may be required to support the reasonable accommodation request(s).Back to Top
Waiting list ranking number
A lottery in which a computer randomly assigns waiting list rankings takes place after the application period. Please note that it may take up to two months after the application period is over for the rankings to be announced.
Once you move to the top of the waiting list, you will be mailed an appointment letter to begin the eligibility verification process. Please be sure your current mailing address is on file, so the letter is sent to the correct location.
To see your ranking, click on the link below to view the alphabetized ranking list in PDF format. The waiting list is sorted by applicant last name.

Understanding the waiting list
Miami-Dade Public Housing and Community Development (PHCD) provides the ranking of the July 2008 Waiting List for its project-based (Public Housing and Moderate Rehabilitation), Assisted Living Facilities, and tenant-based (Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher) programs.
The waiting list is sorted by applicant last name, then first name and split in three parts to make searching it easier and faster.
Each waiting list is bookmarked according to the first letter of the client's last name. If you are using Acrobat Reader version 6.0 or higher, you can access the bookmarks by clicking on the Bookmarks tab located on the left-hand side of the document window, as shown in the following illustration:
To aid in the search process, you can use the Find tool found up on the toolbar. Its icon is in the shape of binoculars, as shown in the following illustration:
Click on it, and a text box will appear. Type your query in the text box making sure the "Match Whole Word Only" checkbox is marked. Then click "FIND."
Note: It is most helpful if you search by either last name or the confirmation number provided at the time of application.Back to Top

Income or family-size changes
If your family size changes you will need to complete a Request to add-remove household members form to PHCD's Applicant Leasing Center. The addition or removal of family members may change your bedroom size, but your ranking will always remain the same. Changes in your income may affect your eligibility or rental payments, but not your ranking. Changes of income will be processed at the time of the eligibility interview.Back to Top
If you have been denied housing and would like to exercise your right to an informal review, you must submit an Informal Review Request form . Submittal instructions are included inside the form.Back to Top
