About PortMiami’s Entrance Feature

The "Pioneers Walk"
In 2008 PortMiami in collaboration with its cargo partners and the Miami-Dade trade community unveiled an entrance memorial honoring more than 200 men and women from the air, maritime, trucking and rail industries that throughout history contributed to the development and success.

The “Pioneers Walk” symbolizes the historic rise of Miami as a global gateway.

The colorfully illuminated globe sculpture is surrounded by tropical landscape and a monument to industry pioneers.

The Pioneers Walk is located at PortMiami’s entrance near the foot of the port’s access bridge on Biscayne Boulevard.
