Food Truck Permit

All food truck companies operating at PortMiami are required to have an active business permit. A business permit allows the holder to conduct business at PortMiami in accordance with rules and requirements of the Port Tariff, the Port Director and the Miami-Dade County Code. Companies are expected to comply with all applicable local, state and federal regulations.

General Requirements

In order to obtain a permit to provide food truck services at PortMiami, businesses must supply:

  • Proof of Insurance
    • All companies must provide a certificate of insurance, which names Miami-Dade County Risk Management and PortMiami as both certificate holder and additional insured as it pertains to company operations while in Miami-Dade County
    • General liability or vehicle liability per occurrence of minimum $100,000/$300,000 total liability and $50,000 property damage
    • Must include the schedule of vehicles (VIN numbers) included in the policy
  • License from State of Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation
  • Miami-Dade County Local Business Tax Receipt
  • Proof of Business Registration through Articles of Organization or Articles of Incorporation
    • Providing documents showing the company’s active status on ‘Sunbiz’ is also acceptable.

  • Vehicle Pictures (Inside and Outside)
  • Payment
    • Cooking On Site
      Initial Permit Fee: $3,350.00 (Includes $350.00 Non-refundable Processing Fee)
      Annual Renewal Fee: $3,000.00 (If Paid Prior to Expiration Date)
    • Pre-Packaged Food Only
      Initial Permit Fee: $2,850.00 (Includes $350.00 Non-refundable Processing Fee)
      Annual Renewal Fee: $2,500.00 (If Paid Prior to Expiration Date)
