Ernie Thomas
Mr. Ernie Thomas currently is the managing partner at a private family investment fund that focuses on agribusiness, early-stage life science and health care technologies and real estate. He is also the current President of Horse Country Miami, a not-for-profit that preserves and protects agricultural/equestrian land in Miami-Dade County.
Prior to that, Mr. Thomas co-founded and sold two life science and medical diagnostic companies to Danaher/Beckman Coulter, where he took the role of Director of Scientific Affairs and Director of the Biomedical Research Business Center. He was responsible for the strategic planning, policy deployment, product planning, and risk management, among other responsibilities.
Mr. Thomas holds a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida International University (FIU).
In addition, Mr. Thomas has served on several boards, including the Board for the Miami-Dade International Trade Consortium. He also served as a mentor for Mini I-Corps Program at FIU.
Mr. Thomas currently represents District 10 on the Transportation Trust.
