Hurricane Irma

As we continue our recovery and cleanup efforts, please visit the Emergency website for the latest information on openings and closings in Miami-Dade County.

15 Years of Progress Report

Significant improvements have been made to Miami-Dade County’s public transit and roadway systems through the investment of Surtax funds since the PTP was enacted.

New transit buses, many of which are eco-friendly hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles, have been added to the Metrobus fleet and are helping to reduce the carbon footprint of public transit. Final assembly of the new Metrorail fleet of vehicles is underway and the first pilot vehicles have been released to the County for testing.

Completion of the Orange Line Metrorail extension brings Miami-Dade County among other cities having a rapid transit connection to the airport providing service to Miami International Airport and the surrounding area for residents and visitors alike.

The new Metromover vehicles have been procured and are in operation throughout downtown Miami.
