About Wilson Fernandez
Wilson Fernandez has been employed since 2000 by the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) as a transportation systems manager, and serves as the MPO's project manager for various multi-modal transportation studies including the 2040 Regional Transportation Plan. He chairs both regional and statewide travel demand model committees. Fernandez assisted the County manager's office during the half-penny surtax initiative in 2002 and worked at Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) for 10 years as project manager for the North Corridor project and development of MDT's five-year service plans.
Prior to coming to Miami-Dade County, he worked three years with the Broward County MPO. Fernandez holds a master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa.
