Citizens' Independent Transportation Trust

The Citizens' Independent Transportation Trust (CITT) is the 15-member body created to oversee the People's Transportation Plan funded with the half-percent sales surtax.

The Office of the Citizens' Independent Transportation Trust (OCITT) provides staff support for the CITT and coordinates public outreach efforts to inform the community regarding the improvements that have been implemented using surtax funds.

People's Transportation Plan 10 Year Progress Report

The Ten-Year Report provides a view of the progress of implementation of the projects in the People’s Transportation Plan (PTP) and the role of the Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust (Transportation Trust) in that process.

The Transportation Trust recognizes the 10 year milestone of the PTP and the transportation improvements made possible by the transportation Surtax. Over the past 10 years PTP projects have enhanced public transportation, provided greater mobility options and improved safety and convenience for passengers, motorists and pedestrians alike.

Citizens Can Provide Input to Miami-Dade Transit's Title VI Non-Discrimination Program

In response to recent changes made by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) on Title VI Requirements and Guidelines for FTA Recipients (FTA C4702.1B), Miami-Dade Transit is looking for citizens to provide input on proposed polices regarding major service changes and their impacts on fixed-route services. The public can submit comments on the policy changes to the MDT Title VI Office of Civil Rights and Labor Relations (OCR/LR) in writing at 701 NW 1st Court, 17th Floor, Miami, FL 33169; or fax to 786-469-5589.

Metropolitan Planning Organization Updates the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) to 2040

The LRTP is updated every five years focusing on developing and implementing projects that improve the operation of the existing transportation system. View the plans and other information at miamidade.gov/mpo/plans/m13-plans-lrtp.htm.
