The Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust (CITT) is the 15-member body created to oversee the People’s Transportation Plan funded with the half-percent sales surtax.
The Office of the Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust (OCITT) provides staff support for the CITT and coordinates public outreach efforts to inform the community regarding the improvements that have been implemented using surtax funds.

Year-Round Application
The CITT Nominating Committee is accepting applications from citizens who wish to serve as CITT volunteers.
AirportLink Metrorail Extension
The AirportLink is a 2.4-mile extension of Metrorail from the Earlington Heights station to the Miami Intermodal Center; a major transportation hub being developed by the Florida Department of Transportation adjacent to Miami International Airport. It is scheduled to open for revenue service in spring 2012. The majority of the funding for the AirportLink is provided by the Peoples Transportation Plan, the half percent sales tax approved by voters in 2002.
The AirportLink project will improve regional transit connectivity and offer greater access and convenience to public transportation riders including a direct mass transit connection to Miami International Airport. [ AirportLink Updates]
