Metrorail Downtown Express

The Downtown Express is a new express Metrorail service that runs on weekdays only, departing twice in the mornings and twice in the afternoons from Dadeland South and Palmetto stations, stopping only at selected stations. See map PDF.

Downtown Express trains have a blue E-signsign at the front, in addition to regular Orange Line and Green Line signs. Train operators will also announce the final destination on the public address system.

Northbound Mornings

  • The express train departs from Dadeland South at 7:03 a.m. and 8:03 a.m., Monday – Friday.
  • The train makes a stop at Dadeland North and continues as an express train until it reaches Brickell Station.
  • Regular Orange Line service resumes at Brickell Station to Miami International Airport Station.
  • Total travel time from Dadeland South to Government Center, approximately 16 minutes.

Southbound Afternoons

  • The express train departs from Government Center at 4:48 p.m. and 5:18 p.m., Monday – Friday.
  • The train makes a stop at Brickell and continues as an express train until it reaches Dadeland North before completing service at Dadeland South.
  • Regular Orange Line service is provided between Miami International Airport and Brickell stations.
  • Total travel time from Government Center to Dadeland South, approximately 16 minutes.

  • The express train departs from Palmetto at 7:01 a.m. and 8:01 a.m., Monday – Friday.
  • The express train continues non-stop until it reaches Civic Center.
  • Regular Green Line service resumes at Civic Center to Dadeland South.
  • Total travel time from Palmetto to Civic Center, approximately 16 minutes.

  • The express train departs from Civic Center at 4:46 p.m. and 5:16 p.m., Monday – Friday.
  • The express train continues non-stop until it reaches Palmetto.
  • Regular Green Line service is provided between Dadeland South and Civic Center stations.
  • Total travel time from Civic Center to Palmetto, approximately 16 minutes.
