Soursop or Spiney Custard Apple

photo of soursop treeDescription: Slow-growing evergreen tree with a dense, columnar canopy. Sensitive to temperatures below 41 degrees. Large spiny green fruit with sweet white pulp and black seeds.   

Size: Small (10-12 feet in height) 

Location: Plant at least 30 feet from power lines, and 16-22 feet from your house. Requires full sun.

Salt tolerance: Low

Watering: Water during planting and for one year thereafter especially if under drought conditions.

Pruning: Wait one year to prune. If staked, remove after 6 months.
