Learn to swim this summer

Summer time is here and Miami-Dade Parks wants you to learn how to swim! Various levels of courses are offered for children and adults, plus parents & tots classes (ages 2-5).

Register now for Summer Camps!

Camps will be held June 9 - Aug. 15, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., with early drop-off available at 7:30 a.m. and late pick-up until 6 p.m. Registration begins on May 1. The cost for these camps is $40 - $90/week, depending on the program. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.

Miller School Study on Fit2Play

Miller School study found that the “Fit2Play” after-school program offered in many county parks is “highly effective” in improving the health of kids and reducing and preventing childhood obesity and other health risk factors.

Become a Volunteer!

Volunteer by building a playground, beautifying parks, maintaining natural areas, playing basketball with children in an inclusive setting, coordinating activities for seniors programs, providing golf ranger/starter duties, cleaning and maintaining a park or fulfilling community service hours and more.

Active Adults Program

Miami-Dade County Parks' Active Adults 55+ program kicked-off in September 2013, as a local effort to encourage older adults to improve their health and well-being by consistently staying physically and mentally active.

Fit2Play After School & Out of School

Kids will enjoy fun, fully-supervised programming after school with activities focused on fitness, nutrition and wellness, and developing their appreciation of nature, science and the cultural arts.

Fit2Play Summer Camps

Camp will be held June 9 - August 15, 2014, Monday - Friday, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., at 31 Miami-Dade park locations and offer 7:30 a.m. early drop-off and 6:00 p.m. late pick-up options.

Boys and girls are taught to swim by certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Various levels of courses are offered for children and adults, plus Parent & Tots (ages 2-5).

Miami-Dade Parks is dedicated to ensuring that each of our patrons has an enjoyable as well as safe experience when visiting our parks and facilities and participating in our programs and special events.

Volunteer Program

Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department encourages Miami-Dade residents to volunteer their time at the park of their choice by building a playground, beautifying parks, maintaining natural areas, playing basketball with children in an inclusive setting, coordinating activities for seniors programs, completing a scouting merit badge program, providing golf ranger/starter duties, cleaning and maintaining a park or fulfilling community service hours and more.
