Miami-Dade Parks appreciates your concerns about overgrown grass

We encourage you to advise the County of parks and right-of-ways with overgrown grass. The approved budget provided Parks with funding to provide routine grounds maintenance services 12 cycles per year in neighborhood parks and 15 cycles per year in community parks. To maximize cutting cycles, less cuts are scheduled during the drier months and more cuts during the summer months for the increased rainfall which causes grass to grow faster. The summer grass cutting schedule started June 13 and will normalize the seasonal grass height. Heavy rains have delayed our efforts. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Flotation devices not allowed on County beaches

Floatopia organizers and participants are reminded that flotation devices are banned at Miami-Dade County beaches per Chapter 26 of the Code of Miami-Dade, Rule 16.

Attend the Summer Fruit Festival

Bring the family out for a fun-filled time that celebrates the arrival of summer and delicious tropical fruit that's ripe and ready for tasting at the Redland Summer Fruit Festival. The event takes place at the Fruit & Spice Park, June 23 and 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We have a camp for that!

Registration is open for Parks summer camps, which run June 11 - Aug. 10, with select sites open through Aug. 17. Choose among general, nature, sports, performing and fine arts, and disability services camps.
