Miami-Dade Parks Celebrates Park and Recreation Month This July — Build Together, Play Together
Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department is turning up the fun this July as it joins the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) to celebrate Park and Recreation Month and this year’s theme – Build Together, Play Together – and experience everything our amazing parks provide to this community.
July is the perfect time to see all that Miami-Dade Parks has to offer, highlighting the vital role that park-and-recreation professionals play in fostering a sense of belonging in their community, bringing people together, providing welcoming, inclusive programs and essential services for all ages and abilities, in addition to well-designed accessible spaces to build meaningful connections.
Miami-Dade Parks kicks off the month with a special 4th of July Celebration at Tropical Park. Join us for a day filled with live entertainment, provided by Univision, delicious food trucks, a family fun zone and a spectacular fireworks show to close out the evening.
Beyond July 4th, Miami-Dade Parks offers hundreds of parks and a variety of events to encourage everyone, from kids to seniors, to get involved and enjoy the outdoors. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging and provide opportunities for all residents to participate in activities that enrich their lives. Celebrate Parks and Recreation Month by visiting your local park or joining one of the many events planned throughout the county.

About Us
We build memorable experiences and communities through well-designed parks and open spaces that are efficient, accessible, engaging and aesthetically pleasing, guided by our Parks Open Space Master Plan.
We offer year-round park and recreation programs for local children, adults and people with disabilities. Camps are held in the spring and summer during public school breaks. After-school activities are focused on fitness, nutrition and wellness, and developing an appreciation of nature, science and the cultural arts.
We also maintain the median strips, road shoulders and causeways for County roadways, busways, Metrorail and Metromover.
