Seasonal Employment Opportunities
You can be part of all the fun that's happening at Miami-Dade Parks this summer. Applications are being accepted through April 2 for a variety of summer jobs including pool managers, lifeguards, seasonal programs assistants and recreation leaders. Individuals must be at least 17 years old to apply. All applicants selected for these positions will be required to successfully complete a drug/alcohol screening and criminal background check prior to employment.
7201 - PROS Seasonal Programs Assistant - $15 per hour
Must be at least 17 years old and be able to work days, nights, holidays and weekends on a varied work schedule. This position is temporary and is assigned to assist with seasonal event programming. Three months of academic, volunteer or work experience involving customer contact, recreation or general labor is preferred.
7301- Recreation Leader - $17.48 per hour
Youth Leadership - High school diploma or GED. One year of experience in planning, organizing, conducting or supervising park and recreation activities is required. Coursework in Recreation, Physical Education, Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Management, Sports Administration, Business/Public Administration, or related field may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis. Must possess a valid Driver's license. HRS Child Care Training Certificate preferred.
Naturalist - High school diploma or GED. One year of experience in developing, directing or conducting interpretive programs as a park naturalist or a related position in organizations such as museums, camps, educational institutions, natural resource management/environmental protection programs, or related experience are required. Completion of related college coursework may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Must possess a valid Driver's license. Must be able to work days, nights, holidays and weekends on a varied work schedule. HRS Child Care Training Certificate preferred.
Pool/Lake Lifeguard 7207/7208/7209 - $16, $17.95 per hour
Minimum age 18 years. Vision standard 20/40, each eye uncorrected is required. Must possess and maintain current certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Lifeguard Training, provided by the Red Cross, Y.M.C.A. or other nationally recognized aquatic training program. Years of experience and additional certifications determine salary.
7211 - Pool Manager - $22.17 per hour
Minimum age 18 years. One season as Pool/Lake Lifeguard 2 or equivalent is required. Must possess and maintain current certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Lifeguard Training and Water Safety Instructor, provided by the Red Cross, Y.M.C.A. or other nationally recognized aquatic training program. Pool operations experience and pool operator license preferred.
