Page Translation

Find your browser

• Google Chrome

  On a computer

  • When you open a page in another language, a translation prompt appears in the address bar. Click Translate to read it in your language.
  • To turn translation on permanently, click the three-dot menu in the top right corner, then choose Settings.
  • Select Languages from the list on the left.
  • Turn on Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language you read.
  • To always translate a language without being asked, under Google Translate add it to Automatically translate these languages.

  On Android

  • Tap the three-dot menu, then Settings.
  • Tap Languages, then Advanced.
  • Tap Automatically translate these languages and add the language you want.

  You can also right-click (or press and hold on mobile) anywhere on a page and choose Translate.

• Microsoft Edge

  On a computer
  

  • When you open a page in another language, Edge shows a translation panel. Choose your language and click Translate.
  • To check the setting, click the three-dot menu (Settings and more) in the top right corner, then Settings.
  • Select Languages.
  • Turn on Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language I read.
  • To translate a language automatically every time, check Always translate from [language] in the translation panel.

  You can also click the translate icon in the address bar at any time, or right-click the page and choose Translate.

• Mozilla Firefox

  On a computer or Android

  • When you open a page in another language, a translation panel opens automatically. If it does not, click the translation icon in the toolbar.
  • Confirm the page language in the top dropdown and choose your language in the bottom dropdown.
  • Click Translate.
  • To have Firefox translate a language automatically in the future, open the translation panel settings (the cog icon) and turn on automatic translation for that language.

  Firefox translates privately on your own device, so your text is not sent to outside servers. The first time you use a language it may download a small language file.

• Safari (iPhone, iPad, Mac)

  On iPhone or iPad

  • Open the page you want to translate.
  • Tap the page menu button (the "aA" or "..." icon) on the left side of the address bar.
  • Tap Translate to [language]. The first time, tap Enable Translation if asked.

  On a Mac

  • Open the page you want to translate.
  • Click the Translate button that appears in the address bar (Smart Search field).
  • Choose your language.

  After you translate one page on a site, Safari keeps translating other pages on that same site automatically. To add more languages, go to your device Settings, then General, then Language & Region, and add a language.

• Another browser

  Browsers built on Chrome (such as Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, and Samsung Internet) usually translate pages the same way Chrome does. Look for a translate prompt in the address bar, or check the browser settings under Languages.

   

  If your browser does not offer translation, you can copy the web address into a free service such as translate.google.com.
