Christina White - Director

Christina White has dedicated her career to public service, spanning more than two decades in Miami-Dade County government.

In June 2025, Christina was appointed as Director of the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, one of the largest and most diverse park systems in the country. In this role, she leads the operations of more than 300 parks, 40,000 acres of protected green space, six marinas, five golf courses, 17 miles of beaches, and the world-renowned Zoo Miami. Under her leadership, the Department oversees a wide range of recreational programming, conservation initiatives, capital improvement projects, and community wellness efforts throughout the county.

Christina manages a workforce of more than 2,000 dedicated professionals, a $291 million annual operating budget and $173 million in capital improvement projects. Her mission is to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors by providing exceptional experiences that offer access to nature, recreation, and cultural opportunities with an emphasis on environmental stewardship.

Before this role, Christina served for nearly a decade as Miami-Dade County's Supervisor of Elections where she led the largest elections operation in the State of Florida and seventh largest in the nation. She successfully administered up to 30 elections per year, serving more than 1.5 million registered voters. Christina is nationally recognized for transparency, technological innovation, operational excellence, and building public trust. Under her leadership, the Elections Department successfully implemented nationally recognized resource allocation models, robust cybersecurity measures, and enhanced outreach and education programs. Christina successfully led the Department through the most challenging elections in Miami-Dade history.

Earlier in her career, Christina held several other leadership roles in the Elections Department and at the Department of Environmental Resource Management, demonstrating her long-standing dedication to public service. Her track record in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and stakeholder engagement has earned her numerous accolades, including the In the Company of Women Award (2021) and multiple commendations from the Miami-Dade Mayor and Board of County Commissioners. In addition, she serves on the Zoo Miami Foundation, Zoo Oversight Board, and the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, supporting initiatives that strengthen conservation, recreation, and community engagement across the county.

Christina earned a bachelors degree in environmental studies from Florida International University. and brings to Miami-Dade County Parks a distinctive blend of environmental knowledge, large-scale operational leadership, and a personal passion for health, wellness, and community impact. She lives in Miami with her family.
