Private Rental Housing
Privately-owned rental housing is available for persons with low- and moderate income who will generally pay 30% of their adjusted income towards rent. See the income limits table for details.
Miami-Dade Public Housing and Community Development (PHCD) provides reasonable accommodation on its housing programs and services to persons with disabilities.
The Veterans Assisted Supportive Housing Program provides 50 rental vouchers to homeless veterans with severe psychiatric or substance abuse disorders. The program is administered in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Advertising and locating property has never been easier!
Public Housing and Community Development has partnered with GoSection8, which provides an enhanced program to list rental properties on line. Listings are available to potential Housing Choice Voucher tenants seeking apartment units, duplexes, single-family homes or townhomes in the private market. If you have any questions regarding registering, creating or viewing property listings, please contact the GoSection8 toll free help line at 1-866-466-7328.
(*) It is recommended that Landlords add photos to their listing for better advertising and faster lease up!
These communities are part of our portfolio and offer affordable housing for which you may be eligible, although some income restrictions may still apply. Please note that all affordable properties accept applications onsite.
Fair Market Rents
View a table that depicts fair market rents for different-sized dwellings. Figures are updated every year.
Housing Choice Voucher Program
The program allows tenants to choose their unit in the private housing market. Although the agency can provide help with locating a unit, the family is ultimately responsible for locating a suitable unit.
Moderate Rehabilitation Rental Program
This federally-funded, housing rental program provides assistance to very low-income individual and families in privately-owned, rehabilitated, multifamily buildings.
Shelter Plus Care Program
The Shelter Plus Care Program provides housing assistance to homeless individuals or families who have a permanent disability––mental illness, substance abuse and/or HIV+/AIDS. The goal of the program is self-sufficiency.
Single Room Occupancy Program
The Moderate Rehabilitation Single Room Occupancy Program provides project-based rental assistance in privately-owned rehabilitated buildings on behalf of very low and low-income single, homeless individuals. The rental assistance is tied to the owner, so participants do not keep the rental assistance in the event that they move.Back to Top Page Last Edited: Fri Jul 18, 2014 5:36:44 PM
