- On July 20, 2021 the Board of County Commissioners voted to amend section 17-161 of the code of Miami-Dade County, Florida, removing the $205,000 maximum purchase price for homes purchased under the homebuyer loan program; and created section 17-162 of the code establishing a methodology for calculating the maximum sales price for homes sold under any County Affordable Housing program. Program guidelines for the Homebuyer Loan Program and the Infill Housing Program will be updated to reflect the current changes in calculating the maximum sales price for homes purchased under all affordable housing programs including, but not limited to the Infill Housing Initiative Program, Workforce Housing Development Program, and the sale of homes on County owned land.

Requests for Proposals (RFP) for Project-Based Voucher Units
Miami-Dade County’s Public Housing and Community Development Department (PHCD) is inviting owners and developers of rental property within Miami-Dade County to submit proposals for participating in the Section 8 Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Program. The primary purpose of this allocation is to create new units, rehabilitate existing rental units, and/or add existing units that are safe, decent and sanitary for rental to low-income families within selected boundaries.
Due date: All applications must be received no later than Friday, August 23, 2019 by 2:00 PM (local time) at Public Housing and Community Development Department (PHCD), 701 NW 1st Court, 16th Floor, Miami, Florida 33136. PHCD’s business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, except holidays observed by the County.

The purpose of the hearing is to allow the public an opportunity to comment on the following:

- HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), $4,962,281.00

- Draft 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and Citizen Participation Plan. Every five years, Miami-Dade County is required to submit a Consolidated Plan to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) which provides the priority needs, goals, proposed projects and proposed outcomes for the next five years. A Citizen Participation Plan (CPP) is part of the Consolidated Plan as required by 24 CFR Part 91.
- Approve a Substantial Amendment to the 2013-2017 Consolidated Plan, as extended through 2019, and the 2017-2019 Action Plan for the recapture and reallocation of $152,743.98 of CDBG and $686,754.00 of ESG funds and $2,186,466.40 of CDBG-CV, Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act funds.

- FY 2020 Action Plan Funding Recommendations:
The Public is hereby advised that Miami-Dade County Public Housing and Community Development (PHCD) has scheduled a public community meeting on the date and time indicated below.
This meeting will allow for public and stakeholder input on the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and Citizen Participation Plan, for the purposes of developing community priorities that will be used in the development of the County’s funding strategies for the allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds received from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, in preparation of the County’s FY 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and Citizen Participation Plan.
A second general public meeting will be held for the public to have an opportunity to review and comment on a draft version of the proposed 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and Citizen Participation Plan at a later date that would be publicly noticed.
