Nathan Kogon - Interim Director

Nathan Kogon is a performance-driven public sector leader with over 23 years of experience in planning, zoning, and housing. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Urban and Regional Planning from Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto, Canada, and is a certified planner through the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). From 2014 to 2023, Mr. Kogon served as Zoning Director of Miami-Dade County. In that role, he managed all aspects of zoning administration, subdivision control, and policy development. He led efforts to expand the County’s Urban Center Districts and Rapid Transit Zones and implemented improvements that streamlined the development review process across multiple County agencies. Prior to his appointment as Interim Director, Mr. Kogon served as the Assistant Director of HCD, focusing on the planning and redevelopment of public housing sites and other County-owned properties.
