Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault or other abusive behavior as part of systematic pattern of power and control perpetrated by one intimate partner against another. It includes physical violence, sexual violence, threats and emotional psychological abuse.

Read about programs and services offered for victims, including getting help with counseling, treatment, sheltering and early intervention services.

If you or someone you know is a victim of sexual assault or domestic abuse, the Miami-Dade Police Department's Special Victims Bureau can guide you through the judicial process.
