His artworks challenge traditional narratives and embrace the rich diversity of the Caribbean and beyond. His art captivates and invites dialogue and reflection on our shared human experience," said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. "Edouard's contributions, along with all the magnificent works of public art featured in today&rsquo;s panel, breathe life into our neighborhoods, turning our streets, parks and public spaces into open galleries where we all can experience the transformative power of the arts."</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Born and raised in Haiti, Duval-Carri&eacute; has a studio in Miami's Little Haiti. His artworks and installations often present themes of spirituality, history, and migration and have been featured in Europe and throughout the Americas. He is the second ever artist-in-residence in Miami-Dade County, following Xavier Cortada, whose practice focuses on climate causes, and was named the inaugural Miami-Dade County artist-in-residence in 2022.&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Duval-Carri&eacute; was also one of the featured artist panelists celebrating 50 years of Art in Public Places in Miami-Dade County.           Announcement made at Art in Public Places program’s 50th anniversary artist panel discussion

          On Wednesday, November 6th, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava named Edouard Duval-Carrié as the new Miami-Dade County artist-in-residence at the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs’ artist panel discussion celebrating the Art in Public Places program’s 50th anniversary.   Duval-Carrié is an internationally renowned Haitian contemporary artist based in Miami.
