Special Open Enrollment

If you are a member of Bargaining Units F (AFSCME 3292 – Solid Waste), G (AFSCME 1542 - Aviation), H (AFSCME 199 – General Employees), the February special open enrollment is your opportunity to make permitted changes to your medical plan insurance coverage.

This year the Miami-Dade County introduced new plan eligibility rules for employees hired on or after January 1. On April 1, these new medical plan design changes will become effective:

  • Utilization driven copayments
  • New medical plan coverage rules for specific types of Provider services
  • A new pharmacy drug formulary to promote the use and adherence of generic medications across all medical plans, plus a new option for the delivery of maintenance drugs

From February 14-28, change your coverage if you feel that one of the other plan options better meets your needs.
