The first step to becoming a participant in the Project Green Light program begins with filling out an application. The application is available online, or a paper version can be requested by contacting [email protected].
The workup will include the following information:
Calls-for-service history for the past year
Florida and Miami-Dade business licensing search
Background check of applicant/business
Code enforcement violation records for past five years
Type of building and its use
A site visit will be conducted to gather additional information on the site.
The PGL Application package will be reviewed by the PGL program manager.
Business will select a vendor
MDPD officers will conduct a site survey and work with vendor to establish locations for camera placement
Application for “We Care” signage will be completed
Once approved by the PGL Manager:
MDPD Officers & PGL Manager will work with the business’ selected vendor to set up an installation date
MDPD Officers will also conduct a post installation audit. This ensures the cameras are in the correct location and are working with MDPD’s system
Once the cameras are verified to be working, Project Green Light MD signage and the green flashing light can be installed
Site is then given the “Green Light” to be an active partner
Project Green Light Miami-Dade Program Requirements
A minimum of four high-definition (1080p) indoor and outdoor cameras with SD cards that are Fusus by Axon compatible
High-speed network connection capable of allowing consistent video streaming
Utilize a cloud storage solution
Have sufficient lighting around your business
Project Green Light Miami-Dade Partner and “We Care” signage posted
Flashing green led on the exterior of the building or on roadway sign
