Ideas to make Mother's Day a special day

Happy Mother's Day! On Sunday, May 11, show mom how much you appreciate her and how grateful you are that she's in your life. 

Here are some ways to give your mom her very own special day in and around our county this weekend. 

• Deering Estate
  • Mother’s Day Brunch: Bring your own picnic, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. General Admission: $18 for adults & $10 for children. Park General Admission is free for Deering Estate Foundation Members and children under 4 years old.
  • Mother’s Day Bay Cruise: Enjoy a relaxing cruise on Biscayne Bay that departs from Deering Estate on the Pelican Skipper, a comfortable riding 45 foot Corinthian catamaran. Enjoy a glass of complimentary champagne (ages 21+) as you disembark and explore the Deering Estate grounds. The vessel complies with Coast Guard Regulations and is ADA accessible.
    
    
• Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden
  Celebrate moms on Sunday, May 11 at the Garden with live music by Victoria Blue, Enchanting Tea in Blooms with violinist Dave Damage, and an exclusive Spring Plant Sale. Enjoy mimosa flights & curated picnic baskets, relax with the Mobile Spa, and shop from boutique vendors.
  
  
• Fruit & Spice Park
  This tropical botanical garden is as special as a mother's love. In fact, it's so unique it's the only one of its kind in the U.S. Stroll through this 37-acre subtropical paradise nestled in the heart of the Redland to the varieties of fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, nuts, and other commercially essential plant specimens from around the world. Adults admissions are $10 and $3 for children 6-11.
  • Mother's Day Sangria Tasting: Enjoy a tasting and tour from 1 - 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 10. Admission is $35 per person.
    
    
• Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
  Treat mom to a tour of this magnificent Mediterranean revival-style estate. Explore the mansion's beautifully preserved rooms and gorgeous indoor and outdoor gardens. Tickets are $25 for adults (13+), $10 for children age 6-12, and free for children 5 and under.
  • Mother's Day Pressed Flower Cards Workshop: Participate in a free, hands-on workshop where you’ll design your own stunning pressed flower cards.
