Starting on January 3 our new and improved Bulky Appointment System will allow you to select the day your trash is collected. After you pick the date, place the trash at the curb (no more than 3 days in advance of your appointment) and we’ll take care of the rest. It’s that simple.

The Bulky Appointment System is a service enhancement that will result in quicker service, neater curbsides and gives you more control over when your pile is collected. You’ll get the same high-quality bulky collection service that you’re accustomed to. The only thing that will change is you’ll know the exact date our trash crews will collect your pile. Everything else about using your bulky waste collection service remains the same: Your property is entitled to two pickups of up to 25 cubic yards each during the calendar year. Or you can combine your two pickups into one pickup of up to 50 cubic yards.

Before placing anything at the curb, schedule your appointment online, on the MDC Solid Waste App or by calling 311. As always, you can dispose of large, oversized items such as sofas, mattresses (enclosed in a plastic bag), large tree limbs and branches and other household trash.
