Miami-Dade County has achieved a significant milestone, reducing its recycling contamination rate to 36.5%, down from nearly 50% in 2020. This progress, driven by the Department of Solid Waste Management through enhanced educational outreach and enforcement, highlights a growing commitment to sustainable waste management and strengthens the County’s recycling efforts. This achievement directly supports the County's broader Zero Waste Master Plan, which aims to divert 90% or more of solid waste from landfills.
