Miami-Dade County Parks celebrates Earth Month throughout April
Join Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and open Spaces (Parks Department) this April to celebrate Earth Month with fun community events and stewardship options taking place throughout the parks system, all month long. There’s something for everyone to participate in, from coastal and park clean-ups, to the annual “Every Day is Earth Day at Miami-Dade Parks” signature celebration with food and music!
"I am excited to celebrate our planet and see all of the exciting events happening during Earth Month,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “The Parks Department has put together a full calendar of events and activities that are both fun and educational and will help us deepen our enjoyment and reverence for the great outdoors. I encourage all of our residents to take time to experience our beautiful county parks in April and all year long."
The Parks Department is all about connecting people with the natural environment any time of the year, focused on resiliency efforts for the conservation and preservation of our county’s most treasured and beautiful parks, beaches, greenways, blueways, trails, nature preserves, clean air, and rich history that spans more than nine decades. Earth Month is an opportunity to show our love and commitment to stewardship for our precious outdoor spaces.
“We are thankful to all the community volunteers and partners who have signed up to participate in our Earth Day celebrations,” said Miami-Dade County Parks Director Maria I. Nardi. “It is exciting to see such a large segment of the community coming out to join Miami-Dade Parks’ conservation efforts during Earth Month and year-round. Our coastal cleanup series, eco-action days, and other volunteer events represent part of Parks’ conservation pillar, as we work to preserve Miami-Dade County’s natural history for this and future generations.”
