religious leaders on National Day of Prayer Observance for an interfaith unity gathering.

Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will host diverse religious leaders on National Day of

<p><span data-contrast="none">The National Day of Prayer has been celebrated on the
first Thursday of May every year since 1952 to encourage our interfaith community
to unite people through faith and peace. </span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335551550":6,"335551620":6,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}"> </span></p>
<p><span data-contrast="none">This year, there will be over 40,000 prayer gatherings
on this day—at churches, courthouses, mosques, synagogues, temples, and schools—which
means millions of people across the nation will join in prayer together to </span><span
data-contrast="none">give thanks, in accordance with their own faiths and consciences,
for our many freedoms and blessings. </span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335551550":6,"335551620":6,"335559739":160,"335559740":259}"> </span></p>
<p><span data-contrast="none">The theme for this year’s events is </span><em><span
data-contrast="none">“Pray Fervently in Righteousness and Avail Much.”

float: none;">As mayor, she oversees approximately 23,000 County employees, serves
nearly 3 million residents, and manages an annual budget of approximately $12 billion.
She is focused on building a more resilient and prosperous Miami-Dade. Her initiatives
include combating gun violence, building a future ready economy full of opportunity,
tackling the housing crisis, and preserving our precious environment. </span></p>

County Commissioner for District 8 and worked with vulnerable populations through
Legal Services of Greater Miami and Catalyst Miami, an organization she founded. With
her husband, Dr. Robert Cava, she raised two children, Eliza and Edward, in Miami-Dade.</span></p>

MIAMI-DADE ( May 02, 2023 )– On Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 8:30 a.m., Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will host diverse religious leaders on National Day of Prayer Observance for an interfaith unity gathering.
The National Day of Prayer has been celebrated on the first Thursday of May every year since 1952 to encourage our interfaith community to unite people through faith and peace.
