Miami-Dade County partners with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau to designate May as "Museum Month"
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners, and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs (Cultural Affairs) are partnering with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) to designate and promote the month of May as “Museum Month” in Miami-Dade County. A searchable database of current offers can be found on the GMCVB website and includes “Buy One, Get One” admissions as well as other admission discounts, membership discounts, and gift shop deals.
The announcement builds on the longstanding partnership between the Cultural Affairs and the GMCVB, which work together to support museums and cultural venues through the Miami Attraction and Museum Months marketing program during April and May. Participating museums and attractions across Miami-Dade provide special offers available to visitors and residents.
The expanded and collaborative effort to promote the month of May as “Museum Month” includes public relations and community outreach activities, events, and localized messaging to increase awareness and raise the visibility of Miami-Dade County’s diverse and exceptional cultural institutions as they continue to welcome the public and rebuild audience visitation post-pandemic. Combined with the county’s “Return and Rediscover the Arts” campaign, more than 15.5 million impressions are anticipated during this April and May window.
The GMCVB is an accredited, independent not-for-profit sales and marketing organization whose mission is to attract visitors to Greater Miami and Miami Beach for leisure, business, meetings, and conventions. For a visitor guide, visit its website at www.MiamiandBeaches.com.
The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council develop cultural excellence, diversity, access, and participation throughout Miami-Dade County by strategically creating and promoting equitable opportunities for artists and cultural organizations, and our residents and visitors who are their audiences.
