Miami-Dade Mayor to unveil large-scale solar array on County building
Miami-Dade is going solar. New solar installation will be unveiled at the Metro West
Detention Center. This is the first large solar install the County has done this year
with more on the way.
<p>Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will join Miami-Dade County’s
Office of Resilience and the Miami-Dade Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation
to unveil the second large-scale solar array on a County facility at the MetroWest
Detention Center. </p>
<p>The MetroWest Detention Center is the second of three current rooftop solar projects
the County is installing, with plans for many more in the future. The new solar panels
will be unveiled to showcase the project, which is expected to meet 24% of the building’s
electricity needs. </p>
<p>The installer of the project will also be onsite to answer technical questions. </p>
