Miami-Dade Parks dedicates eight new pickleball courts at Haulover Beach
MIAMI-DADE (June 18, 2024)– On Friday, June 21, 2024, at 10 a.m., Miami-Dade County Parks joined Miami-Dade County District 4 Commissioner Micky Steinberg in dedicating eight new pickleball courts at Haulover Park at 10800 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33154.
“These new pickleball courts are a testament to our commitment to providing our residents with exciting recreational facilities throughout our parks system,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Pickleball has quickly become one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, and we are proud to offer our community more opportunities to enjoy it. This addition to Haulover Park is not just an investment in parks infrastructure but in the health and happiness of our residents.”
“Haulover Park is a wonderful gathering place for Miami-Dade residents and visitors,” said Commissioner Steinberg. “The new pickleball courts will be a welcome enhancement.”
“We’re proud to celebrate the installation of these eight new pickleball courts at Haulover Park, which expand outdoor recreational opportunities for Miami-Dade County residents,” said Miami-Dade Parks Director Maria Nardi. “This is eight out of 73 pickleball courts we have throughout the county, and we’re excited to have the community enjoy these wonderful amenities.”
Miami-Dade Parks also has dedicated pickleball courts at Highland Oaks Park, Tamiami Park, Ives Estates Tennis Center, Tropical Park, and Water Oaks Park, and multi-use courts for pickleball and tennis at Colonial Park, Coral Estates Park, Country Club of Miami, Devon Aire Park, Kings Grant Park, Norman & Jean Reach Park, Marva Y. Bannerman Park, JL (Joe) and Enid W. Demps Park, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, Miller Drive Park, Modello Park, North Trail Park, Oak Grove Park, Princetonian Park, Ruben Dario Park, Sgt. Joseph Delaney Park, and Tamiami Park Tennis Center.
Haulover Park is a Miami-Dade County nature-based heritage park. Bounded by the city of Sunny Isles Beach on the north, the Atlantic Ocean on the east, Baker’s Haulover Cut on the south, and Biscayne Bay on the west, the 177- acre park has 1.4 miles of beach front and offers activities such as kayaking, boating, flying kites, cycling, and fishing tours. It was acquired starting as early as 1935 and was then Dade County’s fourth major park. Today, it boasts pristine beaches, skate parks, marinas, a dock, boat ramp, fuel pumps, a no-leash dog park, picnic shelters and a pavilion, wet slips, and the newly renovated pickleball courts.
