National Association of Counties awards 143 Achievement Awards to Miami-Dade County

The National Association of Counties (NACo) has recognized Miami-Dade County with 143 Achievement Awards issued to local governments for implementing innovative programs to improve service, achieve cost savings, help develop a better workforce and improve accountability.

"I am immensely proud that our county has been honored with this remarkable recognition, which is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and hard work of our county employees who consistently strive to improve the quality of life for our residents,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “These awards reflect our commitment to innovation, excellence, and public service, and we will continue to push the boundaries to ensure our community remains a leader in effective and efficient governance. Together, we are building a brighter, more vibrant future for all."

This year, NACo recognized 11 Miami-Dade County Departments across several program categories, including “Best in Class” recognition to the Miami-Dade Public Library System for its submission entitled Creating Autism Friendly Spaces at the Library.

The following departments were awarded NACo Achievement Awards:

• Communications and Customer Experience Department – 6 awards
• Cultural Affairs Department – 2 awards
• Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources – 7 awards
• Department of Transportation and Public Works – 1 award
• Information Technology Department - 36 awards
• Juvenile Services Department – 1 award
• Miami-Dade Public Library System – 77 awards
• Office of Management and Budget – 2 awards
• Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department – 7 awards
• PortMiami – 1 award
• Strategic Procurement Department – 2 awards
• Water and Sewer Department – 1 award
