As the County’s housing department, we are responsible for the development, preservation, and operation of housing and community development programs that support residents across Miami-Dade County.  In our role as the PHA, HCD manages approximately 6,500 public housing units and provides rental assistance to more than 19,000 households through the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program, commonly known as Section 8.
