Blue-Ribbon Children's Commission hosts ACEs Summit 2024
On November 15, community leaders, elected officials, and child welfare advocates will convene for the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Summit, an event organized as part of Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s Blue- Ribbon Children’s Commission. This day-long summit aims to tackle the challenges associated with ACEs and explore strategies for fostering healthier and more resilient families and communities.
The Blue-Ribbon Children’s Commission is dedicated to identifying and implementing measures that support the well-being of children and families. ACEs are significant events or conditions that can have severe physical and mental health impacts that can shape children well into adulthood. The summit will provide a unique opportunity for leaders to learn, share, and collaborate on initiatives that minimize or eliminate the effects of ACEs, ensuring children have the best chance to thrive.
The ACEs Summit will feature presentations from health professionals, mental health specialists, educators, and advocates. Attendees will engage in interactive sessions designed to equip them with knowledge and tools to build safer, more supportive environments for children and families. For more information or to confirm your attendance please contact Director Latawun Bess at 305-755-6202 or [email protected]
