The Department of Transportation and Public Works annual Bus Roadeo returns to Zoo Miami
The Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) is excited to announce the annual Bus Roadeo is taking place at Zoo Miami from Friday, January 10 - Saturday, January 11. This highly anticipated competition will highlight the outstanding skills of DTPW’s bus operators celebrating their unwavering commitment to safety, efficiency, and public service excellence.
Bus Operators will be challenged to put their expertise to the test. This year nearly 40 Miami-Dade County Bus Operators will navigate an obstacle course designed to replicate real-world driving scenarios.
The competition will culminate with an award ceremony and picnic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11th, where top-performing bus operators will be recognized. Winners will also have the honor of representing DTPW at the 2025 Florida Triple Crown Roadeo in Gainesville, February 14-15, 2025.
DTPW has a proud history of participating in Bus Roadeo events, and last year’s competition was very special. First-place winner Joseph Esquilin edged out 23 highly skilled competitors to take home the win, and later went on to secure third place at the state level.
