Miami-Dade County observes Consumer Protection Week through March 8
Miami-Dade County will observe Consumer Protection Week from March 2 to March 8, 2025. This week-long initiative aims to empower residents with knowledge and resources to become smarter consumers while getting essential services at no cost through the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) Consumer and Neighborhood Protection Division.
“We are committed to protecting our residents and empowering them with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Consumer Protection Week is a valuable opportunity for our community to engage with our services and become informed advocates for their rights. By raising awareness and providing the tools to safeguard consumers, we are building a stronger, more resilient Miami-Dade where every resident can confidently navigate the marketplace.”
Consumer Protection Week focuses on educating the community about their rights as consumers and offering guidance on fraud prevention. Residents will have the chance to learn about crucial topics such as motor vehicle repair, merchant complaints, wage theft, vehicle towing, booting, and much more, and how the Consumer and Neighborhood Protection Division can help them resolve merchant disputes and wage theft claims.
