Road Rage Incident Resulting in Shots Fired
Deputy's Quick Response to Road Rage Incident
On Monday, March 10, 2025, at approximately 9:20 a.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO) deputies were notified of a road rage incident that resulted in shots being fired.
According to investigators, the road rage incident started in an unknown location and ended at a gas station located at NW 67th Avenue and NW 168th Street. Two adult males continued to engage in a heated verbal altercation that quickly escalated when both produced firearms. One of the individuals shot multiple rounds, however no one was struck.
A deputy from MDSO's Court Services Bureau's, Incident Containment Team, was stopped at the intersection, heard the shots fired, and immediately took swift action. The deputy exited his patrol vehicle, approached the two adult males, and was able to take them both into custody with the assistance of other arriving deputies.
MDSO's Northwest District's General Investigations Unit assumed the investigation, and charged both individuals accordingly.
Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz commends the deputy's heroic actions by stating, "The deputy's quick response, composure, and professionalism saved lives today. This incident could have resulted in tragedy and a senseless loss of life, but instead, both subjects are in custody, and no one was injured."
