Miami-Dade Parks breaks ground on new splash pad and playground at North Trail Park
On Wednesday, April 2nd at 3:30 p.m., the Miami-Dade Parks Department will break ground on an exciting $4.1M development at North Trail Park, located at 780 NW 127th Ave, Miami, FL. This project, which began on January 30, 2025, and is expected to be completed by January 30, 2026, will introduce a range of new amenities and upgrades, further enhancing the park’s recreational offerings.
The upgrades at North Trail Park are designed to enrich the quality of life for the community and future generations, with a strong focus on conservation and environmental stewardship. These improvements, made possible through thoughtful planning and sustainable design, aim to create a lasting, eco-friendly impact.
Key features include the replacement of the existing playground with a new nature-based playground, a fenced splash pad, a new basketball court with energy-efficient sports lighting, and bleachers for spectators. In addition, two new drinking fountains and thoughtfully designed landscaping, including a natural canopy around the playground and splash pad. The splash pad will also feature water recirculation to conserve resources, these upgrades, with their focus on both enjoyment and eco-consciousness, are designed to preserve the park’s beauty and functionality for generations to come.
We invite the community to join us for this groundbreaking ceremony, where Miami-Dade County District 12 Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez and Miami-Dade Parks Director Maria I. Nardi will deliver remarks highlighting the positive impact these improvements will have on the local community.
