Miami-Dade reminds residents: Recycle cardboard year-round at select Trash and Recycling Centers

The Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) is reminding residential customers that cardboard can be recycled year-round at several of the County’s Trash and Recycling Centers (TRCs), making it easier for the public to responsibly dispose of cardboard and support sustainability.

“Creating a cleaner, greener Miami-Dade starts with simple actions — and recycling cardboard is one of them,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “By making recycling more accessible and reinforcing our commitment to sustainability through initiatives like the Zero Waste Master Plan, we’re taking real steps to protect our environment, reduce waste, and build a resilient future for generations to come.”

Cardboard recycling is available for customers within the service area, at the following TRC locations:

• South Miami Heights: 20800 SW 117 Court, Miami, FL. 33177
• Eureka Drive: 9401 SW 184th St, Palmetto Bay, FL. 33157
• West Perrine: 16651 SW 107th Ave, Miami, FL. 33157
• Sunset Kendall: 8000 SW 107th Ave, Miami, FL. 33173
• Richmond Heights: 14050 Boggs Drive, Miami, FL. 33176
• Golden Glades: 140 NW 160th Street, Miami, FL. 33169

This service is part of DSWM’s ongoing efforts to provide residents with convenient recycling options while supporting the goals of the County’s forthcoming Zero Waste Master Plan (ZWMP) - a comprehensive roadmap that will help reduce landfill dependency and foster a circular economy through expanded recycling and sustainable waste diversion strategies. 

“Our team is focused on increasing public awareness of our cardboard recycling program as part of our ongoing efforts to promote long-term sustainability in our community,” said Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management Director Aneisha Daniel, PhD. “Informing the public about responsible recycling habits is essential to our long-term zero-waste goals, and it is another example of how we’re working to enhance waste diversion and support community-wide sustainability.”

These developments underscore DSWM’s commitment to provide customers with exceptional waste collection, recycling, and disposal services that protect, preserve and improve our environment and the quality of life in our community.
