Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) is currently hiring firefighters and invites you to attend our Recruitment Open House this Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at MDFR Station 2, located at 6460 NW 27 Avenue, Miami, FL 33147.

Are you ready to serve your community and be part of something bigger? Come learn what it takes to become a firefighter with one of the most respected fire departments in the country.

Whether you're just exploring your options or ready to apply, this open house is your opportunity to learn more about a rewarding career in the fire service. The opportunity to apply to become a MDFR firefighter only comes around once every three years — don’t miss your chance! 

This engaging, hands-on event will give you an inside look at firehouse life, firefighter training, and the skills needed to succeed. Attendees will have the chance to:

• Meet community firefighters and ask questions
• Connect with recruitment staff
• Tour the fire station
• Participate in a bunker gear & hose management exercise
• Try a victim rescue simulation using a weighted manikin
• Simulate breaching using training props
• Watch CPR demonstrations and try hands-on EMS tasks
• Explore tools, equipment, and technical rescue apparatus
