Samantha Choon [email protected] 305-471-1900 Arrest Made in Fatal Hit & Run On Sunday, August 31, 2025, just before 5:30 a.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) deputies responded to the area of NW 32nd Avenue and NW 35th Street regarding a hit and run. On Sunday, August 31, 2025, just before 5:30 a.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) deputies responded to the area of NW 32nd Avenue and NW 35th Street regarding a hit and run. Deputies located an adult female victim on scene, later identified as Ms. Stefhany Michelle Reconco Rosales.  The victim was transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) to a local hospital where, despite lifesaving efforts, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.  The defendant was later identified through investigative means as Mr. Edwin Alberto Serrano.  The defendant struck the victim and fled the scene without stopping to render aid or calling 9-1-1 for assistance. On September 1, 2025, MDSO Traffic Homicide detectives located the vehicle that was involved in the hit & run.  Mr. Serrano then turned himself in.
