Miami-Dade County cuts ribbon on Wellspring Apartments, a new senior affordable housing development in Opa-Locka
On Thursday, September 25, 2025, Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade County District 1, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the City of Opa-Locka will celebrate the ribbon-cutting of Wellspring Apartments, a new senior housing community.
Wellspring Apartments represents the beginning of a transformative project for residents 62 and older, offering a modern community designed for active, social, and worry-free living. The development includes 99 apartments—studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units—available to residents earning below 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
Each apartment is thoughtfully designed with stainless steel appliances, granite kitchen countertops, and large windows that fill the homes with natural light. To support health and community, Wellspring Apartments amenities include a wellness room for fitness and health activities, a game room to connect with neighbors, and a community kitchen for gatherings with family and friends. The development also features a 44,000 square foot medical office and wellness center, providing vital healthcare services to underserved residents in the area.
This project was made possible through a ground lease of County-owned land to Integral Developers, along with $1 million from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund and $2.8 million from Miami-Dade General Obligation Bonds.
