          Press Release department /global/solidwaste/home.page 2026-01-27 2026-01-27T13:00:00.000Z 08 00 am Robert Vargas [email protected] Frank Calderon [email protected] Miami-Dade County announces 2026 schedule for Home Chemical Drop-off Mobile Events The Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has announced the 2026 schedule for its Home Chemical Drop-off Mobile Events taking place from February through November 2026. <p>The Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has announced the 2026 schedule for its Home Chemical Drop-off Mobile Events taking place from February through November 2026.&nbsp;</p> <p>These free events give Miami-Dade residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of household chemicals and other products that may be harmful to the environment if discarded improperly. They are offered in addition to the County&rsquo;s two permanent Home Chemical Collection Centers.</p> <p>New for 2026: Residents can also take advantage of free paper shredding services at all events.&nbsp;</p> <p><br /><strong>Event Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Events are open to Miami-Dade County residents only.</li> <li>Valid identification is required. Participants must present a Florida driver&rsquo;s license or Florida identification card to verify Miami-Dade County residency.</li> <li>Commercial or business waste will not be accepted.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preparation Guidelines: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Place all containers upright in a sturdy box and ensure lids and caps are tightly sealed.</li> <li>Leaking containers should be placed inside a larger container with absorbent material, such as newspaper.</li> <li>All items must be properly labeled. Curbside recycling services are also provided to the following cities that have inter-local agreements with Miami-Dade County: El Portal, Florida City, Medley, Miami Beach, Miami Springs, North Bay Village, South Miami, Virginia Gardens and West Miami.</p> <p>Waste collection is provided twice each week and recycling every other week.
