Miami-Dade Transit takes fans to the heart of the FIFA Fan Festival™
Miami-Dade Transit is inviting fans to leave the car behind, hop on board, and ride straight into the excitement of the FIFA Fan Festival™ in Downtown Miami.
With thousands of fútbol fans expected to gather at Bayfront Park for 23-day festival kicking off on June 13, the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) is encouraging residents and visitors to take Metrorail, Metrobus, and Metromover for the easiest, safest, and most enjoyable way to experience this celebration of all things World Cup 2026 while avoiding traffic and parking hassles.
“The FIFA Fan Festival™ will bring incredible energy to Downtown Miami, and we want residents and visitors to spend less time in traffic and more time enjoying the celebration,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Miami-Dade Transit will make it easier for fans to get to and from Bayfront Park, connect with the excitement, and experience everything this world-class event has to offer.”
To help fans move around Downtown Miami more easily during the celebration, DTPW is rolling out a transit plan focused on convenient connections and easier access.
- Extended service hours: Metromover service will be extended until midnight throughout Fan Fest, aligning with Metrorail service hours. To accommodate larger crowds expected for featured matches, Metrorail and Metromover services will be extended until 1 a.m. on June 23, 25, and 27.
- Seamless connections: Riders can easily transfer between Metrorail and Metromover at Government Center.
- Closest Metromover stations to the Fan Fest: Bayfront Park, First Street, College/Bayside, and College North.
- Prefer to walk? Government Center and Overtown Transit Village Metrorail Stations are approximately a 15-minute walk from Fan Fest.
- Another easy way to connect: Along with Metrorail and Metromover, Metrobus routes serving Downtown Miami will provide convenient access to Fan Fest throughout the tournament.
- Enhanced navigation: New wayfinding signage throughout Downtown will help guide fans to the nearest public transit options.
“Moving large crowds safely and efficiently is what we do,” said Stacy L. Miller, P.E., Director and CEO of DTPW. “Miami-Dade Transit has extensive experience supporting major events. During Ultra Music Festival, for example, we transported almost 234,000 riders over three days on Metrorail and Metromover alone. For the FIFA Fan Festival™, our transit system will provide fans with a safe, reliable, and easy way to get to the heart of the celebration while avoiding traffic and congestion.”
Visitors, residents and businesses in the area are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time during the festival due to anticipated road closures and detours. With trains running every 15-20 minutes depending on the time of day, $2.25 per person rides on Metrorail, and the free Metromover delivering fans directly to the park, Miami-Dade Transit will provide one of the easiest and most reliable ways to get to and from the celebration while avoiding traffic congestion.
“The FIFA Fan Festival™ at Bayfront Park will be a central hub of energy, culture, and connection throughout the tournament,” said FIFA Miami World Cup 2026 Host Committee Chairman, Rodney Barreto. “Public transportation will help fans get to the celebration more easily so they can enjoy the excitement, atmosphere, and unforgettable global celebration awaiting them in Downtown Miami throughout the tournament.”
From live match screenings to nonstop entertainment and immersive fan experiences, Bayfront Park will come alive throughout the tournament – and Miami-Dade County Transit will be one of the easiest ways to get in on the action.
